Bindura (Nehanda Guardian-New Ziana) – A 22 year old Bindura man will spend the whole of next year behind bars after he was convicted by the Bindura magistrates court of stealing household property worth US$509 at a house in Greenhill area, Bindura early last month.

According to the State, represented by Vincent Marunya, the victim Blessing Mvudura and his family left their house on 13 October 2019 early in the morning to an unknown destiny.

On the same day, Charles Bandera, who had seen the family leaving, went to the house and broke in using unknown objects.

Inside, he took a 32 inch Ecco television set, a DSTV decoder, a laptop and two adaptors before vanishing.

He went to Chipadze shopping centre to try and sell the television set on the same day but, all in vain as police caught up with him before he could dispose of it.

The television set was the only property recovered.

Bindura magistrate Moreblessing Makati sentenced him to an effective 15 months behind bars, with no part of the sentence suspended.
