GWERU – A 28-year-old man from Binga was found sleeping in a house in Mtapa’s Section 5 which has left the community shocked.

The intruder, identified as Jealous Munsaka of Kalonga Village under Chief Siabuwa in Binga, had scaled over the fence and jumped into the yard. He forced open a kitchen window and entered the room.

Community members told The Times they believe that Munsaka intended to steal, but failed as they believe there was juju at play, hence he failed to accomplish his mission.

Police said he was seen sleeping in the kitchen the following morning by the owner of the house. Nothing had been stolen.

Munsaka was taken to Mtapa Police Station after members of the public instituted citizen’s arrest. He was charged for unlawful entry.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said it is important to observe private property rights.

“If the intruder wanted a place to sleep, he should have just presented his case to the owner of the house. This should have served him from the inconveniences he is now going through,” he said.
