    Lightning kills Nyamauru High student

    Mutare, (Pungwe News-New Ziana)-A Form Four student at Nyamauru High school in Dangamvura, Mutare was found dead after she was struck by lightning while coming from school.

    Police confirmed the incident.

    Manicaland deputy police spokesperson, assistant inspector Luxon Chananda identified the deceased as Paidamoyo Murepa (18) of Gimbok South in Dangamvura high density suburb.

    Ass Insp Chinanda said the now deceased`s body was discovered with burns by Memory Sithole (35) of Gimbok South last Friday around 5 pm on an open space.

    “The body was discovered by Memory Sithole of Gimbok lying unconscious on an open space. She went and reported the incident at Dangamvura police station. The body had visible burns,” he said.

    He urged members of the public not to seek shelter under trees and avoid being caught outdoors or on the road during heavy storms.
