IN an unfortunate incident that has left Chivi villagers shocked, a 59-year-old man died at a girlfriend’s home when he was allegedly pushed to death while refusing to go back to his home.

Masvingo Police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, confirmed the incident which occurred on October 14 when Christopher Tsuro of Nyengera Village, under Headman Madyangove in Chivi, died at Jenifer Gandiwa’s (48) homestead.

Dhewa said on October 13 at around 11pm, Tsuro, who was drunk, passed by Gandiwa’s homestead, where he entered her bedroom since it was unlocked and asked for sexual favours.

“Gandiwa agreed to Tsuro’s request in exchange for money. Tsuro handed Gandiwa US$3 and then went to bed for the entire night. Unfortunately, they could not have sex, which led Tsuro to demand a refund in the morning at around 5 am,” he said.

Gandiwa returned Tsuro’s money and insisted that he leave. An argument ensued, and Gandiwa pushed the naked Tsuro out of her house, causing him to fall hard onto the veranda.

She then dragged Tsuro behind her house and put his clothes besides him while she went to attend a funeral in the area.

When she returned at around 5pm, she found Tsuro still in the same spot where she had left him, lying dead.

The police attended the scene and discovered that Tsuro had a cut on the back of the head and there was blood on the ground.

Gandiwa was arrested while Tsuro’s body was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for post mortem.
