MARONDERA- The Zimbabwean Republic Police (ZRP) have launched a manhunt of Panashe Mutangadura (27) of Mutsena Village, Chief Mutekedza in Sadza for the murder of Luckson Mvura who stayed in the same village.
The accused and Kenias Goni (31) of Goni Shop, Mutekedza Business Centre were drinking beer together at the business center.
After drinking beer together, Mutangadura and the now deceased left the business centre for their respective homes, leaving Goni at the business centre where he resides.
On their way home, Mutangadura is said to have taken Mvura’s cellphone, a Huawei by force. After the act Mvura returned to the business centre to inform his friend Goni, about what had transpired. Goni advised Mvura to go home hoping to resolve the issue the next day.
However Mvura decided to proceed to Mutangadura’s homestead where he told his aunt, Emelda Chandaengerwa (34) that he had come to collect his mobile phone. Chandaengerwa then woke up Mutangadura so that the two could resolve the issue but the accused denied the allegations and a misunderstanding arose.
Chandaengerwa went to seek help from a neighbour, leaving the two quarrelling. When she returned with the neighbour, they found the now deceased unconscious and bleeding from the mouth and with a swollen face.
