Masvingo (Masvingo Star-New Ziana) – A three-day-old infant was recently found dumped at the entrance to a bar at Nemamwa Growth Point, near Masvingo city.

The baby was spotted by a shop owner, Shumirai Mushayavanhu, (36), of Mushayavanhu Supermarket, around 6am as she made her way to open for the day.

The baby was wrapped and placed in a cardboard box in front of You and Me Bar on the verandah.

Mushayavanhu became suspicious and went to check the contents of the cardboard box, and found an infant inside.

She then called the police, who attended the scene and took the baby to Morgenster Mission Hospital where it was said to be in a stable condition.

Masvingo police confirmed the incident and appealed for information that might lead to the whereabouts of the baby’s mother.
