Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) this week announced the start of a recruitment exercise for general duty constables to train for a Diploma in Police Studies.
In a statement on X, the national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police is recruiting suitably qualified candidates who are Zimbabwean citizens, physically fit to join the organisation as general duty constables and train for a Diploma in Police Studies for a period of two [02] years at Mkushi Police Training Academy, an affiliate of the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).”
“Applicants to submit their hand written application letters with contact numbers and life history of between 450 to 500 words, copy of identity documents and copies of educational qualifications in person to the Officer-in-Charge of the nearest police station where they stay on or before Monday, 08 July 2024. Only shortlisted candidates will be advised of the dates and venues of the interviews.” Comm Nyathi said applicants should be between 18 to 22 years with a minimum of five Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics, English language and any other Science subject attained in not more than two
sittings.
He said interested applicants should be physically and medically fit, males should have a minimum height of 1.68ms and weigh not less than 59kg while females should have a minimum height of 1.62ms and weigh in proportion of height.
He said male candidates should be prepared to complete a 5km road run in 20 minutes while females complete the same distance in 25 minutes.
He said ZRP offers remuneration, free uniforms, medical and dental care, housing and transport allowances, generous leave conditions and chances for personal, academic and professional development. Comm Nyathi warned the public against falling for fake advertisements from social media platforms and individuals out to dupe them of their cash while purporting to be members of the ZRP.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police does not engage third parties or charge a fee for the recruitment process.”
