Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched an urgent appeal for information regarding a brazen armed robbery that took place on Tuesday at Pircy Farm in Goromonzi. The incident involved six unknown male suspects who were armed with machetes and pistols.

Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspects gained entry to the farm by cutting through a fence located in the backyard before accessing the kitchen through an open door, where they launched a violent attack on the farm owners.

“The assailants made off with an estimated USD 3,000 in cash, along with a variety of personal belongings including clothing, two speakers, three cell phones, laptops, jewellery, groceries, and three firearms,” he said.

Comm Nyathi said police later recovered two shotguns and a pellet gun that had been discarded in the backyard of the farm, raising hopes that further evidence may lead to the identification and capture of the suspects.

The farm’s security system captured crucial footage of the robbery, revealing the faces and clothing of the suspects, evidence which may prove pivotal in the ongoing investigation.

“We are appealing to the public for any leads or information that could assist in bringing these criminals to justice,” said Nyathi.
