Harare (New Ziana) — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to the public for information about two daring armed robberies that have recently shaken local communities.

On Saturday, at around 6:30 PM, two unidentified suspects armed with pistols stormed a residence in Habane Township, Esgodini, Matabeleland South province.

In a brazen act, the two made off with a staggering USD45 000 in cash.

During the violent encounter, one occupant was shot in the chest and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Bulawayo.

Two days earlier, a separate robbery had occurred in the capital where eight armed assailants attacked a security guard stationed at a local security company on Lynnington Road, Strattaven, Avondale.

Equipped with firearms and iron bars, the attackers stole USD23 175 in cash, along with five firearms, seven pepper sprays, and seven handcuffs.

The ZRP is calling on communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, while encouraging residents to visit their nearest police stations with any leads.
