Harare, (New Ziana) – In a gesture of warm camaraderie, President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Saturday extended ‘heartfelt’ birthday wishes to Chinese President Xi Ping, who turned 71.
In a statement released by the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mnangagwa conveyed his sincere congratulations on behalf of Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU PF party, the Government, and the people of Zimbabwe.
“On the occasion of your Seventy-First Birthday, may I, on behalf of my Party, ZANU PF, Government, the people of Zimbabwe, and indeed on my own behalf, wish you, Your Excellency, happy felicitations, good health and many more years of personal success and that of your great people and Nation,” said
President Mnangagwa.
He expressed deep satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, acknowledging the Chinese President’s personal interest and efforts in strengthening these ties.
“As we mark and celebrate this joyous and blessed day, I note with great satisfaction the excellent bilateral relations between our two sister Republics, acknowledging with deep gratitude your own personal interest and effort towards their furtherance,” he said.
Looking to the future, President Mnangagwa exuded confidence that the partnership between Zimbabwe and China will continue to grow, with the two governments and peoples exploring new avenues of cooperation for their mutual benefit.
“Going forward, I have no doubt, Your Excellency, that our relations will continue to grow and expand in scope as our two Governments and peoples explore new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit,” he added.
The warm exchange of birthday wishes underscores the strong and enduring friendship between Zimbabwe and China, forged through years of strategic partnership and cooperation in various spheres, including trade, investment, and diplomatic relations.
