    War veterans polls postponed

    Bindura (New Ziana)- The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) elections slated for June 29 and July 12 have been postponed until further notice.

    Douglas Mahiya, Zanu PF secretary for war veterans, ex political prisoners, detainees and restrictees league in the politburo in a letter dated June 20 to all ZNLWVA chairperson wrote: “On behalf of the Joint Committee, l wish to advise that the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association elections and congress scheduled for June 22, June 29and July 12 have been postponed indefinitely until further notice.”

    Veterans of the liberation struggle were supposed to elect their new district leaders last Saturday while this weekend on June 29 they were scheming provincial elections.

    On July 12 they expected to host their national congress that would also see them electing their national executive.
