    Zim records two new Covid-19 infections

    Harare(New Ziana)- The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Zimbabwe has risen to 46 after two more people tested positive on Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said.

    In a daily update released on Monday, the Ministry of Health said the two new Covid-19 cases were from a United Kingdom returnee and a truck driver who initially tested positive in neighbouring Zambia.

    The confirmed cases came out of 671 RDT screening tests and 279 PCR diagnostic tests that were conducted on Sunday.

    “Two cases tested positive for Covid-19 today. One is a male returnee from the United Kingdom and the second is a truck driver who initially tested positive in Zambia and again tested positive on re-testing in Harare. Both cases are stable and in self isolation at home in Harare
    “To date, the total number of confirmed cases is 46; recovered 18. Active cases 24 and 4 deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020,” said the ministry.

    Cumulatively, Zimbabwe has done 28 019 Covid-19 tests.
