Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued a strong call to the public, urging citizens to report any instances of corruption by public officials.
In a press statement, ZIMRA emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and collective action in eradicating corrupt practices that undermine the integrity of public institutions.
“ZIMRA’s commitment to integrity is a cornerstone of its operations, and the authority is dedicated to maintaining transparency while serving the public. “It is only through vigilance and cooperation that we can eradicate these malpractices,” it said.
The authority underscored the critical role that public participation plays in the ongoing fight against corruption, saying every citizen has a part to play. To bolster its efforts, ZIMRA said it continues to collaborate closely with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and various stakeholders.
The partnership aims to cultivate a culture of integrity that not only benefits the citizens, but also strengthens the fabric of the society. ZIMRA urged the public to be cautious and verify the identity of individuals claiming to be ZIMRA officials.
All legitimate ZIMRA representatives are required to wear name tags and uniforms, and citizens are encouraged to request identification before engaging in any official business.
“This measure aims to protect the public from potential fraud and ensure that all interactions with ZIMRA are legitimate,” it said.
