Zvimba to build clinics, schools
Zvimba (Telegraph-New Ziana) – The Zvimba Rural District Council (RDC) recently voted to construct and renovate clinics and complete building eleven schools in different wards this year using devolution funds.
The council passed a resolution to finish building eight primary and three secondary schools, while clinics in Royden, Chimwemwe and Upway will also be built.
Zvimba RDC acting Chief executive officer, Emmanuel Chitombo said some of the projects had been started last year, and will be completed this year.
“Eight primary schools and three secondary schools are to be given the priority to use roofing materials which were purchased under devolution fund, and the schools are Stratford Primary School in ward 19, Karigamombe Secondary School in ward 19, Chininga Primary School in ward 14, Ndudza Primary School in ward 30, Maringove Secondary School in ward 21, Kawondera Secondary school in ward 9, Murombedzi Primary School in ward 2, Annadale Primary School in ward 33, Hunyani Primary School in ward 17, Madzorera Primary School in ward 29 and Munhondo Primary School in ward 21,” he said.
He said council was appealing to beneficiary communities to also play a part by mobilising other required resources. It has made it a condition that communities must make a contribution.
“The request for building materials for Haydock and St John’s primary schools, construction of Woodrow primary school and the construction of a classroom block at Ndare Primary school will be made and these projects are to be prioritized in the next financial year,” Chitombo said.
