Gweru man dangles private parts at daughter (7)
Gweru (New Ziana) – A 53-year-old Gweru man got himself in trouble after he allegedly dangled his private parts to his seven year old daughter.
The accused pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecent assault as defined in Section 67 (a)(i) of Criminal Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23, when he appeared before magistrate Miriam Banda at the Gweru Magistrates Court.
The accused was remanded in custody to April 6.
The State represented by Public Prosecutor, Bornface Musvaire said the accused allegedly pointed his private parts to his daughter and lay on top of her.
The court heard that on March 13 at around 0900hours, the complainant and her mother went to church leaving the father home drinking beer.
“At around 1530hours, the girl and her mother proceeded home. On the way, the girl decided to rush home and left her mother behind as she wanted to go and play with her friends,” Musvaire said.
“Upon arrival at home, she found her father urinating outside and pointed his private parts to her, saying that his manhood is the one which brought her on earth,” he said.
The prosecutor said the mother arrived home and found the girl crying, and later narrated what had happened.
On March 14, the mother narrated the story to the girl’s teacher, who then advised her to report the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of her husband.
