MUTARE-In yet another intriguing murder case that has stunned Honde Valley Community, a
24-year-old woman from Ruda, allegedly stabbed her six-year-old cousin to death before fleeing
the scene.
Caroline Chisuko of Makabvepi Village, Honde Valley last week allegedly killed Audrey
Chisuko (6) in cold blood before disappearing from the scene of crime.
A stunned mother found Audrey's body lying lifeless in a pool of blood in the house before
making a police report.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the incident
and said investigations were ongoing to establish actual circumstances leading to the grisly
It is reported that Caroline was sitting by the verandah at Audrey's homestead when Audrey's
mother left the premises escorting a friend. Caroline sent Audrey into the house to get some
bananas for her but did not wait for her return. She followed Audrey into the house and stabbed
her several times on the chest and back with a knife. A child who witnessed the grisly account
rushed to inform Audrey's mother of the incident," he said.
A distraught mother found the body of her daughter lying unconscious in the house as Caroline
had fled the scene.
Police managed to arrest Caroline as investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances
and motive behind the heinous act.
Meanwhile police in Chisumbanje are investigating two separate machete related murder cases.
The first case is that of a toddler axed to death by his mother.
Thandiwe Chikumba (34) of Batanai Village,Chief Musikavanhu, Chipinge struck her one-
year-old son Duveen Mazuva twice on the back with a machete.
Police claim Chikumba is mentally challenged and she lives with her mother, Loveness Sithole
On the fateful day, Sithole had left Chikumba unattended as she went to the nearby shopping
center. Upon her return she found her daughter sitting by the verandah with no sign of anything

In another incident, Douglas Nzirainengwe has been arrested for allegedly murdering Richard
Mlambo following a misunderstanding over a stolen goat.
Nzirainengwe struck Mlambo with a machete on his left elbow as he accused him of stealing his
goat sometime back in April. Mlambo was later found dead by his brother Samsom who traced
the blood tracks from the scene of incident,” confirmed Insp Muzondo.
