MARONDERA- The bodies of four men believed to be of foreign origin were recently found dumped
in a bushy area near Suswe Pass in Mudzi district.
Members of the public reportedly discovered the bodies dumped at the 174 km peg along Harare-
Nyamapanda highway before informing Nyamapanda police.
Following investigations, the police established that the deceased quartet could have been
foreigners who were being transported in a container and there was a likelihood that suffocation
could have caused their death.
At the time of writing, investigations into the matter had been instituted by the police.
National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and added
that they have since engaged INTERPOL as investigations continue.
“Our investigations conducted by the police have unearthed that four men who were found dead on
November 22, 2022 in a bushy area near the 174 km peg along Harare-Nyamapanda Road are
suspected foreigners who were being trafficked to another country, which we are yet to establish.
“It is suspected that the deceased suffocated in the container they were travelling in and the bodies
were dumped in the area.  As the Zimbabwe Republic Police, we have since engaged INTERPOL for
further investigations in terms of the victims’ identifications and the law to take its course on
possible suspects,” the national police spokesperson said.
