Kwekwe lodge robbed
KWEKWE – Two robbers pounced on a lodge in Kwekwe and made off with US$115 cash, two cell
phones and a Wifi router recently.
Police in Kwekwe have since launched a manhunt for the two robbers.
It is alleged that on November 24 at around 7pm, the complainant and waitress, Josephine Shekede,
an employee of Wakefield Lodges, Chicago Kwekwe, was on duty when she was approached by the
two robbers, who pretended as if they needed overnight accommodation.
While attending to the suspects, one of them suddenlypulled out an unidentified object from his
waist, and allegedly threatened Shekede before demanding money and all her valuables.
Shekede went to her room and took cash amounting to US$115, a G-tel Infinity cell phone, an Itel
cell phone and handed them to the robbers.
The robbers also took a Wifi router and a remote controller from the unmanned guard room and
disappeared.
“We are appealing to members of the public who may be in possession of any information which
may assist with the arrest of the suspects to approach any nearest police station,” said Acting
Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, Assistant Inspector Fungai Ngawagare.
