THE Beitbridge couple, who have gone viral in most social media platform for an alleged
infidelity fight at a lodge in Beitbridge, have not reported the incident to the police.
The Officer Commanding Beitbridge Police District, Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo,
said no report has been made at Beitbridge Police and fight ended in the bush where it was.
That must have just ended where it happened. It never came to our attention and the people
may have remembered the police, he said.
Beitbridge residents, however, believe the people who were beaten up may have been too
embarrassed to report, considering the extra-marital incident was at the very place where the
woman officially tied the knot with her husband.
In the video, a man is seen savagely assaulting a woman believed to be his wife allegedly
when her companion at the hotel was bathing.
Later images of a bleeding man were posted, suggesting the man in the picture was the one
the woman had visited.
Some people, who may have accompanied the husband captured videos and images of the
incident which has become a topic of discussion on many social media platforms.
Investigations by this publication revealed the victims of the assault indeed visited the police
station to recover a mobile phone device of the male victim which he had been robbed of by
the assailants.
After learning they could be charged for robbery, those responsible for assaulting those
found at the lodge, the husbands party returned the phones taken from his male victim, said
a police officer closer to the case.
Both victims of the assault were not interested in any criminal charges although there was
crime during the assault, the officer said.
It is understood the man, a shipping agent, and his wife were on a difficult patch, during
which she may have found another shoulder to lean on.
