President Mnangagwa urges nation to inspect voters’ roll

Kwekwe (New Ziana) -President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on all prospective voters to inspect the voters’ roll ahead of the August 2023 harmonized elections.

He made the call to inspect the voters’ roll after he did the same at Sherwood Primary School in Kwekwe, where he is registered to vote. He was accompanied by First Lady Dr. Auxilia Mnangagwa who also verified her details on the voters’ roll.

“As the 2023 harmonised general elections draw closer, I call upon all voters to inspect the voters roll, to ensure that their details are correctly captured,” said President Mnangagwa on his official Twitter handle.

Zimbabwe has over 5.8 million registered voters who are expected to cast their ballots in the forthcoming harmonised elections set for August this year.

ZEC Chief Elections Officer Utoile Silaigwana said they will extend by a day the period of the inspection of the voters’ roll at some inspection centres due to some “logistical and other unforeseen challenges.”

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission last week urged Zimbabweans registered, on or before 28 April 2023 to visit the 11 289 inspection centres from Saturday to Wednesday this week in all the 10 provinces and verify their details on the voters’ roll.
