All Set For Nomination Court in Manicaland

MUTARE (New Ziana) ALL is set for the Nomination Court sitting at Mutare Magistrates Court later this morning with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) saying they are ready for the task ahead.
Speaking to journalists this morning Manicaland Provincial Elections Officer, Thompson Chiwereweshe assured aspiring candidates of a smooth flow process while urging them to maintain peace as they file for their candidature.
“The nomination court is set to sit between 10am and 4pm today to which we hope to have a flawless process. I however urge all those willing to file their candidature to do so in a peaceful manner and to maintain order during the process,” he said.
The Nomination Court sitting today across the country is meant to come up with successfully-nominated candidates to represent respective political parties in the forthcoming harmonised general elections.
Presidential candidates will file their papers at the High Court in Harare, while National Assembly candidates will use provincial courts, with councillors filing their papers at council offices.
More than 6.5 million people are registered as voters for the impending election, with at least 12 000 polling stations set to be established across the country.
