MARONDERA- A man from Chihota in Marondera is on the run after fatally striking a
fellow villager.
Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi
confirmed the tragic incident and appealed for information that may lead to the arrest
Tendekai Muzuva (41) of Muzuva Village under Chief Chihota.
Before the assault, Muzuva had a misunderstanding with the now deceased Adenis
Tohohlana (41)’s brother early in the morning on June 13.
After the misunderstanding, he later met the now deceased who comes from
Mudzungwe Village in the same area and accused him of stalking the flames that led
to his misunderstanding with Toholana’s brother.
He then allegedly assaulted the now deceased with wooden fence droppers all over
his body, resulting in him sustaining head injuries, a cut on the forehead and back
swelling.
The matter was reported to Mahusekwa Police who attended the scene and
Tohohlana was referred to Mahusekwa Hospital where he was treated and
discharged.
The following day, his health deteriorated and he was taken back to Mahusekwa
Hospital before being further referred to Chitungwiza General Hospital where he was
pronounced dead upon admission.
