GENESIS Sports Ventures proprietor, Zorodzai Damiso, last week ignited
confidence in his former primary school Kasanga Primary School teams by donating
sports kits to the soccer, netball and volleyball teams.
Sheikh Zoro, as he is affectionately known in the sports arena, attended his primary
education at this school in Rushinga.
He said during his days at the school, playing soccer, they used to put on faded and
oversized uniforms that affected their confidence and concentration during play.
“We were always on the receiving end, especially when we met with Gwangwava
Primary. We would wear oversized and loose uniforms.
“We always felt inferior when playing against other schools that had better fitting
uniforms. That alone, affected some of our mates, who had talent but, were affected
by circumstances.
“I am confident that dressing has an impact on one’s podium performance, hence l
came up with these uniforms to this school, which built my foundation,” explained
Zoro.
The Genesis Sports Ventures boss, who has also a training kit deal with Cranborne
Bullets, Trojan Stars, MWOS Rovers, Dulibadzimu and Tenax FC, which are all in
the first ZIFA soccer tier went on to say:
“The point is if we change the way we dress, the way we feel will also change. When
we are dressed well and look good, we automatically feel better.
When we feel good on the outside, we are more likely to feel good on the inside,
which boosts our attitudes and self-confidence, and supplies us with more energy to
treat ourselves and others around us better. This ultimately makes us the best
version of ourselves.
“I am definitely not saying that dressing well makes a person, but it certainly affects
how someone feels and performs.”
