Gweru businessman nominated for African Achievers Awards
GWERU — The Founder and Executive Chairman of TM Group and Africa Business Council Board
Director Tinashe Manzungu has been nominated for the 13th edition of the African Achievers
Awards (AAA) to be held at the Houses of Parliament, The Palace of Westminster, United Kingdom
England next month on July 14.
The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) immediate past president and Gweru
businessman announced his nomination on his official Facebook last week.
The AAA nomination comes after Manzungu received global honour in May during the 2023 Leaders
Without Borders’ annual business summit and international honours event held in the United
Kingdom.
Hosted by Lord Woolley of Woodford, Member of The House of Lords, Lord Temporal, the African
Achievers Awards (AAA) focusing on the African continent, is one of the most prestigious awards,
recognising exceptional Africans for their contribution to the growth and development of Africa.
The theme for this year’s International Summit and Awards ceremony is : Unlocking Sustainable
Trade and Investment Opportunities in Africa – the PPP Approach.
On the choice of this year’s theme, Chief Executive Officer of the African Achievers Awards, Tonye
Rex Idaminabo, reiterated the importance of addressing the challenges in Africa to work towards a
prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future in Africa.
This year’s summit and awards ceremony provides a platform for industry leaders in Africa to
converge, and discuss strategies towards sustainability in Africa.
Created in 2010, the African Achievers Awards have become one of the most reputable awarding
bodies in Africa and one of the biggest annual gatherings of influential African achievers globally.
Manzungu, an infrastructure development expert, was listed on the Institute of Corporate Directors
Zimbabwe (lCTDZ) Top 40 Most Influential Young Leaders for 2022.
The previous year, Manzungu, who is also the Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA)-
Senior Vice President, also put another feather on his cap when he was honoured at the 6th edition
of African Icon Awards (AIA) held at the National Theatre in Accra, Ghana.
A Doctor in Business Leadership and a 2010 Midlands State University Bachelor in Geography and
Environmental Science graduate, Manzungu is the founder of TM Group, a diversified firm with
interests in construction, Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), Health and microfinance
with presence in Rwanda, Zambia, and Botswana.
Under the TM Group banner, the 38-year-old philanthropist, runs Zimbabwe General Medical Aid
Fund, Zimbuild Property Investments, NetComs, Prime Mutual Properties, Tinrue Finance, and Africa
Haven Funeral Services among other ventures.
