GWERU – All is set for the 2023 Midlands Show, which will run from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday July
23.
With no significant outbreaks of cattle diseases, the popular livestock section is expected to
showcase high-quality breeds.
With the stands’ uptake almost at 100 percent, showgoers are in for a treat with the uniformed
forces stands, government departments, parastatals, and private companies all expected to
showcase their products and services.
The show organisers have already done inductions and training of adjudicators to give the show a
professional outlook.
It will be entertainment galore as award-winning Zimdancehall artist Freeman, born Emegy Sylvester
Chizanga popularly known as the HKD Boss, is expected to put ‘the roof on fire’.
The Joina City hitmaker will be supported by locally based artists. Apart from the talented
Samukoko, there will be performances from Xiddo, Legion, Defeater, Captain Chimaadqueen, and
Mackman.
The children’s section will have horse riding, boats, quad bikes, and other Luna Park activities.
Tivakudze Chisango of Senga said she will attend this year’s show like always.
“I have been attending the show since I was a child and now that I am grown, I want to see the new
exhibitions.
“I usually enjoy the service providers like the Environmental Management Agency, Traffic Safety
Council of Zimbabwe, Post and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, and the
tertiary institutions,” she said.
Tawanda Mudzingwa of Mkoba said he attends the show for entertainment.
“Last year there were many places where there was music and cold beer,” he said.
