MUTARE-Zanu PF supporters in Mutasa South Constituency have pledged at least
5 000 votes for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the 2023 harmonised general
elections.
This was revealed in an interview by Mutasa South constituency legislator,
Advocate Misheck Mugadza soon after the launch of the party’s campaign rally in
Chipinge recently.
“As Mutasa South, we are promising President Mnangagwa over 5 000 votes as we
head for victory on August 23 as we show our gratitude to the good works being
shown by his astute leadership in the Second Republic,” he said.
In pledging his full support towards the victory of the ruling party, Advocate
Mugadza also paid tribute to the party’s cell chairpersons for being its vanguard
and machinery.
“We really appreciate the sterling work which as the party’s cell structure leaders
you are doing in advancing the message of the party in communities. They have
managed to oil the party machinery well and are going full throttle to ensure a
resounding victory in all seats,” he said.
Turning to election campaigns, he urged all party members to observe extreme
discipline and maintain peace and order, a reflection of the party's principles in
disciple and peace.
"Let us continue to maintain the peace we have in the country as we go for the
elections and heed the President’s call for peaceful elections. We are looking
forward to having a peaceful and credible election campaign cycle characteristed
by the highest levels of discipline. I speak strongly against any acts of violence and
urge everyone to express themselves in a peaceful manner. Elections are about
making the right choice for the future and there is no need for people to engage
in violence to express themselves," added Adv Mugadza.
He further said President Mnangagwa had transformed the lives of many
Zimbabweans through various developmental programs across the country as
evidenced by infrastructural development taking place in Mutasa South.
“Victory is certain as the people are seeing all the works being done by Zanu PF
and we have many programs to empower communities that are being offered by
our President to our people. My constituency is made upnof both rural and urban
which means I am willing to standard for equal opportunities and developments
in both areas,” he said.
