THE Department of Veterinary Services won the best price after beating 79 other
exhibitors at the third edition of Beitbridge Expo, held at Dulivhadzimu Stadium.
The department also won the overall best exhibition in what chief adjudicator,
Jabulani Mzinyathi, said was a tight contest.
The quality of exhibitions surpassed what was on display last year. We had a torrid
time coming up with the top three in each category. Exhibitors should put their best
foot forward in respect of manning their stands. Their best public relations personnel
are better placed to articulate issues, said Mzinyathi.
As the Chief Adjudicator, I echo my colleagues’ sentiments that exhibitors should
not rest on their laurels but must improve on continually.
The second prize went the Zimbabwe National Roads Authority (ZINARA) while the
third prize was landed by Oakleigh House School, which also won the top prize in
the Best Commercial Exhibitors section.
Econet Wireless was judged second best commercial exhibitor, while Blue Villa
Lodge was third.
The best Small and Medium Enterprise section was won by Marvels Hardware, while
another hardware shop, Reliable Hardware, came second with a refrigeration
concern, Nepro Air adjudged third.
The best Government Department was won by the Department of Veterinary
Services, which went on to scoop the top award followed by the Department of
Immigration, while Agritex Department was third.
The Roman Catholic Church choir sang their way to the top in the choir section,
where the Art of Worship Church came second best melodies.
Mzinyathi said adjudicators looked at several things including the impact the
exhibitor had, fhe attractiveness of the stand, use of graphics, creativity among four
other categories for which exhibitors scored marks.
