THE annual Mashonaland Central Agricultural Show roars into action this Wednesday,
August 3 until Saturday, August 6.
Formerly called the Mazowe Valley Show, the agricultural show is one big platform for
all companies with interests in Mashonaland Central Province to market their services
and products.
Christopher Chingwaru, the show society chairperson said they were expecting at least
39 established companies, including local and urban authorities, as well as vocational,
technical colleges and the three local universities – Bindura University of Science
Education, Zimbabwe Open University and Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti8 University.
Traditional exhibitors, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe National Army,
Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service and Bindura Municipality, as well as the
Office of the President and Cabinet will be there too.
The three-day programme will open with a Business Forum on the first day, August 3.
It will run under the theme, “Innovative production for economic development – Going
for growth under devolution.”
According to Chingwaru, the exhibitors have already started sprucing up their stands.
“We expect more new comers due to the optimism in the economy and devolution. We
also expect more Government departments and agencies since many have
decentralised,” he added.
This is the show society’s 23 rd edition, having started in 2000.
