Opposition CCC party takes all Parly seats in BYO

Harare (New Ziana) – The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party was on Friday declared winner of all 12 parliamentary seats in the Bulawayo Metropolitan province in the three-part elections held mid-week.

The elections were held on Wednesday to elect a new president, and parliamentary and local government representatives for the next five years.

The CCC, which draws most of its support in urban areas, swept Cowdry Park, Nketa, Emakhandeni-Luveve, Bulawayo South, Lobengula Magwegwe, Bulawayo South, Entumbane-Njube, Mpopoma, Nkulumane, Pelandaba-Tshabalala, Pumula and Mpopoma-Mzilikazi constituencies in the province.

All the constituencies are in Bulawayo, the country’s second biggest city.

But elsewhere, CCC is trailing the ruling Zanu-PF party, which is widely expected to win the elections, including the presidential segment.
