BIKITA West villagers have commended developmental efforts being undertaken in the
constituency by the local Member of Parliament, Elias Musakwa.
The villagers heaped praises on Musakwa after he organised a late Christmas function for Wards
9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 32 to show his appreciation of the support he was getting from the
    communities.
Speaking during the event, Ward 9 councillor, Sabina Mujongonya, said that the community had
benefitted a lot from Musakwa’s efforts as he has drilled boreholes, and ensured electricity
supply to help alleviate the economic challenges being faced in the constituency.
I am pleased to candidly say, Honourable Musakwa has done several projects in our area
including, a borehole drilling project and the electricity supply project. All this was done to do
away with some burdensome challenges which the community of Bikita West was facing, she
    said.
In terms of enhancing computer literacy, he has provided primary schools like Makotore and
Marozva with some computers so that pupils may get equipped with sophisticated technological
    innovations.
Makotore Village head in Ward 32, Peter Chambwera, said people in his area now had
permanent water sources which had gone a long way in sustaining their agricultural
    development.
I would like to wholeheartedly thank Honourable Musakwa for establishing permanent water
sources in Makotore. Water is an essential need for survival. In other words, water is life. People
have now viable horticulture projects that enable them to survive both on commercial and
    subsistence farming basis.
Makotore Primary School head Pauline Mhembere said in past years the school was struggling
with power cuts which were resolved by Musakwa through the purchase of a generator.
Meanwhile, Musakwa urged his constituents to stand united and to go the extra mile in bringing
development by embarking on different projects.
He said people should venture into different hands-on-skills activities to improve their living
standards so that by 2030, Zimbabwe would be an upper middle income economy.
Musakwa said women were the pillars of success and should not be victims of Gender Based
    Violence.
Women are very important catalysts of thriving development; they are worthwhile in supporting
our leadership so, we do good things to them. Women should not have their rights trampled upon
and get suppressed. They are the cornerstones for success.
