Africa’s premier football tournament, the 35th TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, is set to enter its most thrilling stage today as four of the continent’s top teams will battle it out in the semi-finals.
Record seven-time champions Egypt, 2013 winners Nigeria, 2021 titleholders Senegal, and hosts Morocco will battle for a coveted place in the final.
Egypt clinched the last semi-final spot on Saturday night, narrowly defeating defending champions Côte d’Ivoire 3-2 in a thrilling encounter that ended the Elephants’ title defence.
They will now face Senegal in Tangier. Senegal was the first team to book a semi-final berth after a composed 1-0 victory over Mali last Friday.
Morocco continues its quest for a first continental title in 50 years after overcoming Cameroon 2-0 in Rabat, maintaining impressive momentum on home soil.
Completing the semi-final line-up is Nigeria, who delivered a clinical performance to defeat Algeria 2-0 in Marrakech, setting up a blockbuster clash with the hosts in Rabat.
The semi-finals promise to deliver another chapter of high drama as Africa’s giants battle for a place in the final in Rabat on Sunday, 18 January 2026.
