Every weekend is a happy day for most kids in the mining town of Hwange as family fun day
activities have taken the town by storm.
These activities come in the form of sporting activities which include swimming for kids, jumping
castles, toy sales as well as face painting. Family fun activities are no longer for the children as
parents have joined the fray as they play with their kids.
Caroline Mudanda one of the organisers of the fun day activities said these are meant to occupy
    children and their parents.
“The children need to be occupied and avoid having an idle mind. Idle minds usually lead to mischief
    and drug abuse,” she said.
“I was inspired by the number of kids who showed up at this year’s Hwange agricultural show. I then
decided to do this on a monthly basis,” she said adding that she is facing a lack of equipment such as
Jumping Castle, water slide and generators.
“My goal is to create employment through these events and at the same time raising awareness in
    protecting the children,” she said
