MAFARARIKWA,BOCHA-President Emmerson Mnangagwa has commended the Johanne Marange
Apostolic Church for fostering peace and unity among its congregants as he embarks on a campaign
trail across the country drumming up support for the forthcoming harmonised elections.
Addressing thousands of congregants in Marange on Saturday, President Mnangagwa said
Zimbabwe is a Christian nation which supports freedom of worship ensuring congregants that they
would continue to enjoy the same freedoms when he is voted back in office as President.
“Ever since I started visiting this church I have observed the level of peace and unity displayed the
congregants. By merely turning up in their numbers without being coerced speaks volumes to their
unity of purpose and love for peace and worship,” said President Mnangagwa.
He further implored the church to continue praying for the socio-economic development of
Zimbabwe saying the progress of the country was hinged on faith and prayer.
Meanwhile, Priests of the Johanne Marange Apostolic Church have endorsed President Emmerson
Mnangagwa's candidacy in the upcoming harmonised elections next month.
Speaking during a church service held during the Johanne Maranges Passover conference in
Marange at the weeked, high priests in the church commended the good works being carried out by
the Second Republic under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.
Having the highest leader of the land leaving behind his office and busy schedule to attend such a
spiritual moment speaks highly of his level of humbleness and his God fearing nature. His personality
groomed him for the office he currently holds. He has been through several trials and tribulations
but has remained true to being humble and patient, a trait of humbleness fit for a leader. His
ascension to power was not by any force but a God given position based on his God fearing nature,
    they said.
They further assured President Mnangagwa that the church would rally behind him and give him
their vote as the country gears for the forthcoming polls.
As a church we have faith he shall continue to lead our nation. The coming elections will just be a
formality of processes as President Mnangagwa already has our vote and full support throughout,
    they said.
The Johanne Marange Apostolic Church was holding its annual Passover Conference at the church's
    main shrine in Mafararikwa, Bocha.
A gathering of over 20 000 congregants from across the country and the region came to honour their
high priest Mutumwa Nimrod Taguta as they observe their passover ceremony for two days.
