President Mnangagwa Urges Youths to Embrace Heritage and Drive Development

Marondera — President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed a spirited gathering during the National Youth Day celebrations at the Igava Training Centre this Saturday, urging the young citizens of Zimbabwe to take pride in their cultural heritage and play an active role in the nation’s progress.
In his keynote speech, President Mnangagwa encouraged the youth to embrace their identity as Zimbabweans and Africans, asserting, “Zimbabwe will always be your home. Defend its sovereignty, independence, and freedom while navigating the path of unity, development, modernisation, and industrialisation.”
Highlighting the Government’s commitment to decentralisation, the President noted that hosting the event in Marondera symbolises the administration’s dedication to being accessible to the people. “Our Government is from the people and is run by the people. We shall always engage with our citizens and collaboratively chart the future of our nation,” he stated.
President Mnangagwa commemorated National Youth Day as a moment for reflection and renewed dedication to the principles forged in the liberation struggle. He called on the youth to foster loyalty, patriotism, and community involvement. “I challenge you to remain vigilant and active within your communities and extend your efforts to a national level across all sectors,” he urged.
The President praised the innovation and leadership demonstrated by the current generation during exhibitions and activities at the event. He emphasised that unity and dialogue are essential, highlighting that the involvement of youth is crucial to advancing Zimbabwe’s development agenda.
