    Rehabilitation of Kwekwe-Mvuma road completed

    Harare (New Ziana) – The rehabilitation and surfacing of the Kwekwe-Mvuma road has been completed, Cabinet heard on Tuesday.

    The project was done under the road maintenance and rehabilitation programme of the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA) third 100-day cycle priority projects for 2023, whose report was presented by Minister of State for Presidential Affairs in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Lovemore Matuke.

    Updating the media during post cabinet meeting briefing on Tuesday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere said other projects implemented under the programme include the Nyakasikana-Karanda road in Rushinga district which is 61 percent complete and the construction of the Gunguhwe Bridge in Gokwe North district which has been completed.

    Dr Muswere said significant progress has been made on the construction of the Somgolo Bridge in Lupane district which is 90 percent complet as is the construction of the Nzoumvunda Bridge in Muzarabani district while Muhume Bridge in Murehwa district is 80 percent complete.

    He said other projects RIDA undertook are the construction of Halisupi pipe drift in Gwanda which is 96 percent complete, drilling of boreholes in all provinces at 46 percent completion and the maintenance of boreholes which has surpassed the target of maintaining 1 000 boreholes after 1 021 were successfully attended.
