In a resounding endorsement of Zimbabwean entrepreneurial excellence, the principals of the River Valley Group of Companies have been named recipients of the prestigious 2026 African Business Leadership and Impact Awards.

Group Chairman Eng. Dr. Mncedisi Dube and Group CEO Amb. Prof. Smelly Dube are set to be honored for their transformative contributions to the African business landscape. The conferment will take place at the 16th Peace Achievers International Awards on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the iconic Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Nigeria.

Individual Honors for Corporate Excellence

The awards, organized by the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation in collaboration with the American Management University (AMU), USA, recognize two distinct pillars of the River Valley Group’s success:

Amb. Prof. Smelly Dube will receive the Distinguished Leadership and Corporate Sustainability Award, acknowledging her role in building a resilient, ethics-driven corporate empire.

Eng. Dr. Mncedisi Dubewill be conferred with the Africa’s Business Transformation & Enterprise Award, highlighting his technical and strategic prowess in evolving modern enterprise.

This year’s ceremony, held under the theme “Honouring Impact, Inspiring Peace, Transforming Lives,” aims to spotlight leaders whose influence goes beyond the boardroom to effect real-world societal change.

A Legacy of Impact

According to the selection committee, the honors are a testament to the duo’s “outstanding leadership and significant contribution to business development.” In letters of notification, Project Director Dr. Kingsley Amafibe emphasized that the awards celebrate the institutions strengthened and lives empowered under their vision.

“True leadership is reflected in the opportunities created and positive change generated,” Dr. Amafibe wrote. “Your journey demonstrates the value of vision, enterprise, and purposeful leadership.”

Aligning with National Vision

For the River Valley Group, these accolades are not just personal victories but a reflection of a broader national momentum. Prof. Smelly Dube noted that the group’s success is deeply intertwined with Zimbabwe’s national goals.

“River Valley Group reflects a commitment to sustainable value which is enshrined in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030,” Prof. Dube stated. “The Second Republic has ushered in a new dispensation of industrialization and economic integration. We remain inspired by His Excellency’s philosophy: ‘Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo’ (A country is built by its own people).”

Echoing these sentiments, Eng. Dr. Mncedisi Dube expressed his pride in representing his nation on the continental stage. “As a proud Zimbabwean, I am happy to receive this recognition in what is a historic moment for our country,” he said.

As the River Valley Group continues to expand its footprint, this international recognition serves as a powerful reminder of the role African business leaders play in shaping the continent’s economic future and social peace.
