Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched two separate public appeals for information — one to help identify a woman whose body was found in Mbare, and another to locate a suspect wanted in connection with a major fraud case.
In a statement, national police spokesperson, Paul Nyathi said in the first case, police are seeking assistance to identify the body of a woman believed to be between 24 and 27 years old and about 1.6 metres tall, which was discovered at Pioneer Cemetery in Mbare, Harare.
“The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist to identify a woman, approximately 24-27 years old and 1.6 meters tall, whose body was discovered at Pioneer Cemetery in Mbare, Harare.
“The victim had severe head injuries and her pants were found pulled down to the knee level, suggesting possible sexual abuse,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
The body has since been taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.
Police have urged anyone with information that could assist in identifying the deceased or in tracing the perpetrator(s) to report at any nearest police station.
Meanwhile, Nyathi is also appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of Kupakwashe Ralph Dumba (23), who is wanted in connection with a fraud case involving ZWG 4,84,548.90 (approximately US$16,151.63).
Dumba, who was employed as an insurance sales and marketing officer, allegedly generated duplicate Point of Sale (POS) receipts for motor vehicle insurance and licence payments between July 1 and December 31, 2024, pocketing the proceeds from the duplicated transactions.
The fraudulent activities were reportedly unearthed during an internal audit. Dumba’s last known address is 3007 Tsvana Crescent, Ruwa, Harare.
Police have appealed to anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631, via WhatsApp on 0712 800 197, or report to any nearest police station.
