BEITBRIDGE – The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) has confirmed the passing of Matabeleland South Deputy Officer Commanding, Assistant Commissioner Reverend Mbedzi, casting a sombre mood over the province.
According to a brief statement released on Wednesday morning, Assistant Commissioner Mbedzi passed away in Beitbridge. The circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed.
The ZPCS described the late senior officer as a dedicated and committed leader who played a pivotal role in the administration and operational command of correctional services in Matabeleland South.
Provincial Public Relations Officer Tikiti Terence said the organisation was not ready to provide further details at this stage.
