Harare (New Ziana) -Government has re-introduced limited subsidies on fuel to cushion the economy in light of increasing international prices, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has said.

Crude oil prices reached a decade-high of US$119 per barrel last week because of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Announcing new fuel prices, Zera said both petrol and diesel would now cost USD1.51 up from USD1. 44.

“The fuel price increase has been prompted by international crude oil prices which continuously went up following tensions in Eastern Europe.

Government has had to subsidise the final price to cushion the economy,” Zera said.

“The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio remains at E0.”
