Gokwe (New Ziana) – A Gokwe man committed has suicide after learning that police wanted to question him over a case of sodomy.

Midlands police spokesperson, Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.

He said the man, Temba Munyoro (42) of Venge Village under Chief Chireya in Gokwe, died on September 21 after allegedly hanging himself.

Preliminary police investigations established that Munyoro was drinking beer at Nyamhara Business Centre where he got information that he was being sought by police on allegations of sodomy.

Munyoro went home and retired to bed.

“Around 4am the next morning, Munyoro woke up and left his wife behind in bed. When his wife woke up she could not find him resulting in her informing neighbours and they began searching for him,” he said.

Mahoko said Munyoro’s body was found hanging from a mango tree at a nearby abandoned homestead.
