CHEGUTU – THE game started at a fast pace with both teams – Norton Community
FC and Berks – threatening to score as early as possible to disturb the rhythm of
    ones opponents.
Norton Community FC nearly scored in the first three minutes of the game when
Nigel Chihota’s effort was denied by the cross bar.
Chihota had tricked his marker on the left side of the field and then lashed the volley
    that crushed against the bar.
As if that was not enough, Chihota again flicked a curve that missed the right goal
    post by a whisker.
Community continued to trouble the home team and were rewarded with a goal in
the 27th minutes through a header from its captain.
The teams went to the break with Community leading 1- 0.
After the break, Berks came back a rejuvenated side, as they tried all their arsenal to
pull one back. Norton Community defenders could not withstand the pressure and
they conceded a penalty after a foul in the box.
The community boys were not let down by the penalty, but instead they piled more
    pressure on the home team.
The pressure paid dividends as they managed to also get a penalty after a handball
in the box. The penalty was neatly taken and sailed into the nets for the visitors’
second and final goal of the game.
The win keeps Norton Community on the summit of the Northern Region Division 2B
log with 36 points followed by TelOne with 31points.
TelOne held third-placed Chingwere to a 1-1 draw at Chingwere grounds in
    Mhondoro away from home.
