KWEKWE — Musician Telson Migi aka Terry marked his return to live stage at a glamorous event
where he unveiled his latest single titled Humbimbindoga at King Solomon’s Hotel recently.
The 2013 Chibuku Road to Fame winner had taken a sabbatical from performing live shows while
concentrating on band management.

The charismatic touted torch-bearer of local artists in Kwekwe after the late Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo,
decided to abandon his managerial skills and returned to live performance.

He promised to put Kwekwe on the musical map like what the late sungura maestro Dhewa did as
his music reverberated across the country.

Today is the day we have been waiting for, the day I make my return to live stage performance. We
will be launching a brand new single track titled Humbimbindoga. We are here to celebrate as we
get into the festive season mood,” he said.

The launch of the album was graced by fellow artists Traver The One and Agga Nyabinde, the son of
Jazz maestro Bob Nyabinde.

I was in the music industry but had taken a back seat while assessing the environment in the music
industry. When I stopped live performances, I started to do band management and my first band to
manage was On One Band.

“We managed to move from Kwekwe to Harare. But I had to come back home and that is when I
started managing Traver The One. I stopped managing Traver last year and started to push for my
return to live performance.

I once made waves in the music industry before and I want to promise Kwekwe that this time will
make noise across the country like what the late Dehwa did. I also appreciate what the late Tongai
Moyo did.

“He made a name while in Kwekwe without relocating to Harare. Some artists believe everything
happens in Harare but I am one artist who will make his breakthrough while in Kwekwe, said Terry.

Newly elected Kwekwe Mayor Albert Zinhanga who was the guest of honour said Terry did well to
return to live performance and Kwekwe City Council has a mandate to promote arts and culture.

What Terry is doing today is commendable as you know music soothes our souls and draws away
people from being involved in bad habits especially these days when we are busy fighting drug and
substance abuse. If the youths keep doing music, it keeps them busy and away from drug abuse.

As Kwekwe we are doing well in promoting arts and culture, recently we had the Kwekwe Sports,
Arts and Culture Festival which was supported by Kwekwe City Council and supported by the
corporate world. The festival ensures that as a local authority we are in support of artists’
development for the betterment of all people in Kwekwe," said Mayor Zinhanga.
