In a gesture of corporate social responsibility, Zhong Jian Investment (ZJI), which is working with Hwange Colliery Company, has donated 6,000 school bags to learners in Hwange rural schools.
Chief Hwange, speaking at the handover ceremony, called other mining companies to follow ZJI’s commendable example and support the education of children in their communities.
Expressing his gratitude, Chief Hwange emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of society to ensure every child has access to education.
“I am pleased to be receiving this donation which will assist a lot of children, I call upon other companies to take a leaf from ZJI. It is our responsibility to support the education of our children,” said the Chief.
He lauded ZJI for their generous donation saying by supporting education the company was investing in the country’s future generation.
Simon Wang, an official from Zhong Jian Investment, highlighted that the donation was a way of giving back to the community. As a contracting company working closely with Hwange Colliery Company Limited, ZJI recognized the importance of investing in education.
“We came to plough back to the community, as a company, we are working as contactor to Hwange Colliery Company Limited and we saw it fit to donate to schools as token of appreciation,” said Wang
Wang further revealed that ZJI’s commitment to corporate social responsibility extends beyond this initial donation. As their operations expand, they plan to unveil a comprehensive CSR initiative aimed at enhancing learning opportunities in the community.
Recognizing that education was the cornerstone of progress, ZJI applauded the dedication and commitment of teachers who play vital roles in shaping the future generation.
“As we scale up operations, we intend to extend the donation as part of CSR which will be unveiled in due course. Education is corner stone and we are in support of enhancing learning opportunities, we are applaud the dedication and the commitment of the teachers who shape the future generation,” said Wang.
The donation of 6,000 school bags by Zhong Jian Investment signifies the company’s commitment to uplifting the local community and supporting its educational endeavors.
