Harare, (New Ziana) –CBZ Holdings (formerly Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe, and Jewel Bank) has declared a final dividend of US$10 million for the financial year ending 31 December 2024, rewarding shareholders with USc1.61 per ordinary share.

In a notice, The notice Group Chief Legal Counsel and Governance Officer Rumbidzayi Jakanani said the dividend is set to be paid to all shareholders who are registered by the close of business on 9 May 2025.

“Payment is expected to take place on or about 15 May 2025,” she said.

A dividend is a portion of a company’s profits that is paid out to its shareholders as a reward for investing in the company.

In this case, CBZ is distributing US$10 million among all shareholders with each share earning 1.61 US cents.

For example, if someone owns 1 000 shares, they will receive US$16.10 before tax. However, taxes will be deducted, so the amount received will be slightly less.

According to the notice, the company’s shares will trade cum-dividend, meaning buyers will be entitled to the dividend until 7 May and from 8 May, the shares will trade ex-dividend, meaning any buyer after this date will not receive the announced dividend.

Shareholders are also being advised to ensure their mailing and banking details are up to date, and this can be done by contacting First Transfer Secretaries (Private) Limited at their Harare office.

Founded in 1980 as CBZ Bank Limited, it was taken over by the Government of Zimbabwe in 1991 to avert looming liquidation, and was renamed Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe Limited.

In 2005, the company rebranded, creating CBZ Bank as the main business and CBZ Holdings Limited as the holding company.

One of the country’s largest financial groups, CBZ Holdings offers services in banking, insurance, investments, and agro-business.
