Harare,  (New Ziana) – The Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Wednesday fined Chicken Inn FC and Dynamos FC heavily for recent match disturbances, in a stern warning to clubs and officials undermining the integrity of the game. In its latest disciplinary rulings, Chicken Inn was fined US$5,000, while Dynamos was also fined US$5,000.

In addition, Dynamos coach Saul Chaminuka was hit with a US$4,000 fine and a two-match touchline ban. Chicken Inn defender George Majika was also fined US$1,000. “The club was fined US$5000, with the match awarded to Scottland FC on a 3-nil scoreline,” the PSL said in reference to the incident involving Chicken Inn FC during their May 23, 2025 fixture against Scottland FC at Rufaro Stadium.

The league added: “George Majika was sanctioned for his role in the incident and fined US$1000.” Meanwhile, Harare giants Dynamos FC were punished over their abandoned clash with FC Platinum on June 22, 2025 at Mandava Stadium.

“Dynamos FC were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum… Consequently, the club has been fined a sum of US$5000 and the match was awarded to FC Platinum on a 3-nil scoreline,” the PSL ruled.

The disciplinary committee also took aim at Dynamos head coach Saul Chaminuka, accusing him of misconduct during the match. “He has been fined US$4000 and banned from occupying the technical bench for the club’s next two matches,” the statement added.

These hefty penalties are part of the PSL’s broader push to maintain discipline and order in the domestic league. “The PSL reminds all clubs, players and officials of their obligation to uphold the league’s rules and regulations. Any actions that disrupt fixtures, undermine the integrity of the competition or bring the game into disrepute will not be tolerated,” the league warned.

The rulings are expected to send a strong message across Zimbabwe’s top-flight football, as the PSL looks to crack down on behaviour that threatens the professionalism and image of the game.
