Harare,  (New Ziana) – Air Zimbabwe announced on Tuesday that it will make the Harare–Mutare–Victoria Falls route a permanent service, following overwhelming demand from travelers during the recent Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanani World Tourism Expo held in the eastern city.

The route, which connects Harare, Mutare’s Grand Reef Aerodrome, and Victoria Falls, will now operate daily, with fares set at US$85 one way and US$170 return.

Air Zimbabwe chief executive officer Edmund Makona said the strong response from passengers during the expo influenced the decision to extend the service.

“Air Zimbabwe is pleased to announce the continuation of its Harare–Mutare–Victoria Falls route beyond the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanani World Tourism Expo. Initially launched to facilitate travel for attendees of the 15th Edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanani World Tourism Expo, the service quickly proved essential beyond the scope of the event. As a result, Air Zimbabwe will now operate this route daily,” he said.

Makona said making the route permanent reaffirms the airline’s commitment to promoting domestic tourism. “This route has received an overwhelmingly positive response across the board.

It has evolved from an event-specific service to a permanent arrangement, providing essential air access to the Eastern Highlands.” He added: “We are proud to serve as a bridge; linking communities, enabling trade, and showcasing Zimbabwe’s breathtaking destinations. Air Zimbabwe encourages all travelers and tourism operators to take full advantage of this enhanced service.”
