Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced a 30-player provisional senior women’s national team squad, which is preparing for a three-nation tournament.

However, the squad will be trimmed to 23 players, who will represent the nation at the tournament to be played at Bingu National Stadium in Malawi later this month.

The tournament will also feature Zambia following changes to the initial competition format that included South Africa who have since pulled out.

“Despite the modification, the Mighty Warriors remain firmly focused on their mission and are preparing to put on strong performances against two respected regional rivals.

“Preparations are already underway in Harare, where head coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda and her technical team are overseeing training with a 30-player provisional squad. This group will be reduced to 23 players before the team travels to Malawi,” ZIFA said in a statement.
