Beitbridge-The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority, Dr Michael Masiapato, is set to visit the Beitbridge Port of Entry in Musina on Thursday following growing concerns over illegal border crossings and the transport of undocumented foreign nationals.
The urgent intervention comes after authorities intercepted several minibus taxis and buses allegedly carrying undocumented migrants, raising alarm over inland border operations.
During the visit, Masiapato will lead a high-level Port Management Committee meeting involving key stakeholders, including the South African Police Service, South African National Defence Force, South African Revenue Service and traffic management authorities.
The Commissioner is also expected to meet bus and taxi operators in the Beitbridge area to strengthen compliance measures and improve the lawful movement of people and goods across the border.
A site inspection of vulnerable areas around the busy border post will also form part of the operation.
