TRIANGLE – A contractor who was injured in an industrial accident at Triangle Limited’s refinery earlier this week has died while receiving specialist treatment, the company has confirmed.
The deceased, Jeffrey Mushara, was employed by a contractor engaged by Triangle Limited.According to the company, the accident occurred on July 14 at its refinery operations. Mushara was initially treated at Colin Saunders Hospital before being airlifted to a specialist medical facility in Harare, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
In a statement, Triangle Limited expressed profound sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to Mushara’s family, friends and colleagues.
“On behalf of everyone at Triangle Ltd, we extend our deepest condolences to Jeffrey’s family, friends, colleagues and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they come to terms with this tragic loss,” the company said.
Triangle Limited Chief Executive Officer Mr Tendai Masawi described the incident as a tragic loss that had affected the entire organisation.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jeffrey Mushara. On behalf of all at Triangle Ltd, I extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
“This is a tragic incident that has affected all of us. Our focus is on supporting those impacted and cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation,” he said.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to workplace safety, saying the safety and wellbeing of every person working at its operations remains a top priority.
Triangle Limited said it is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities and other stakeholders as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident continue.
The company has not yet disclosed the cause of the accident, pending the outcome of the official investigation.
