HARARE – Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) has honoured Senior Fire Fighter Paul Masvikeni following his retirement after 41 years of dedicated service in the aviation sector.
Masvikeni began his career in 1985 as an Office Orderly with the then Department of Civil Aviation before joining the fire department as a trainee firefighter at Charles Prince Airport in 1986.
He was deployed to Hwange National Park Airport a year later, where he continued building a career dedicated to protecting passengers, aircraft and airport infrastructure.
In 2003, Masvikeni joined the fire service at the then Harare International Airport, now R.G. Mugabe International Airport, where he served until his retirement under ACZ.
Colleagues at the airport’s fire station marked his departure with a water cannon salute and a guard of honour in recognition of his long and distinguished service.
The farewell ceremony celebrated Masvikeni’s contribution to aviation safety and his commitment to duty over more than four decades.
ACZ described his career as a demonstration of loyalty, resilience and dedication, with his contribution leaving a lasting legacy among fellow firefighters and the wider aviation fraternity.
